Geocache Description:

After finding a cache I enjoy logging it but I try to keep it short and to the point.  Often times, however, I'll see cache logs written as if it belongs as a chapter in a book, going on and on and on.  Does anybody really care about visiting Aunt Mildred in Toledo or that you had scrambled eggs for breakfast before caching that day?  The following is an example of what I mean:

===========================================================================================================

The adventure to Geowoodstock began for us in North Bay, Ontario. The weather was warm and the trees had barely began to bud.

We made it to Niagara Falls, Ontario by the end of the first night, at which point we attended a little event on #3 Table Rock overlooking the Horseshoe Falls (Canadian Side). We spent the night in the trailer in spot #8 behind one of the many historic Niagara Water & Power buildings near the falls.

Our second day, we crossed at Port Huron, which in turn took close to 4 hours to cross as they seemed to have no one manning the booths for the crowds of people attempting to cross. We stopped along the way for about nine caches and spent the night at a random campground outside of Columbus.
Friday and Saturday night were spent caching around the area and camped out at East Fork State park. A lovely place with all the amenities.

On Sunday morning around 9 am we started the lovely and diabetically dangerous BCDT. Met the owner of the trail and ate an Apple Fritter the size of a dinner plate.
Monday we started the ECGT that was launched, did a few more donut shops and retired early about 9:30 pm.

Tuesday is when disaster struck. It was Shadowfire's birthday and I wanted to make it special. We went to the Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, only to miss out on the tour we tried to do 2 years ago when we were last there, missed it by 4 or 5 minutes. So we instead took a backup that wasn't quite as awesome. Then, her general health took a turn and she was unwell for the rest of the day. I tried to stop at the Jim Beam Americal Stillhouse and take a tour, but because of staffing issues, they changed the tour times, I was 1 minutes late and the next tour wasn't for 2 hours. By this time we just wanted to get "home" to the trailer. However, a major breakdown on I-71 prevented that. The driveshaft on the trusty F150 broke and left us stranded on the highway for over an hour. We were towed back to Cincinnati to a fantastic AAA shop on West Court Street. The gentleman behind the country; Larry was super helpful, even called when the torrential rain started to offer to give us a ride to the rental place, all the way out at CVG (Cincinnati international airport)

Couple rental cars and some tours later, we get the truck back on Thursday. Let's just say the Canadian Peso isnt that strong compared to the greenback. The repair cost over $1000 after the exchange. The repair didn't last long though, because the driveshaft broke again 8 blocks away. It turns out the issue was actually the axle had blown apart inside the differential.

Larry felt terrible about the whole fiasco, got his guys to stay late to source the issue on Thursday night. The lady from AAA that helped me out, Kathy, she is awesome and I hope gets to read this.
Friday morning comes around, Larry calls me with the terrible news. The axle isnt rebuildable, worse yet, I need some sort of super hard to come by axle because my truck is some sort of F150 Frankenstein. He calls in some favors, has an axle brought in from Tennessee for that afternoon. It arrived around 4 pm and he and his guys stay til 7 pm on the Friday of a long weekend to make sure that everything is 100%.
We attended Geowoodstock with a new outlook as to the most memorable vacation to date. Met some awesome people, saw some really cool sights and cant wait til 2019 in Fort Worth.
