Geocache Description:

*You will need a smartphone/device that allows you to use NFC & WebAR!*

The difficulty is based on needing the correct equipment only.

Your journey starts at Battis Farm in Amesbury.

Scan the NFC sticker on upper left at GZ & your adventure begins.

A conniving Gopher has stolen some nearby celestial objects causing major havoc. Your goal is to take back the Sun to help restore order to the solar system. The gopher is quite the trickster & may have left some other clues floating around. There is no need to diverge from trails except for last 10ft or so in this planetary pursuit.

*Most mobile Augmented Reality experiences require the user to install an app. With WebAR, you can enjoy Augmented Reality experiences direclty in your web browser, no need to install an app. On Android, WebAR is supported on Chrome, while Safari makes it possible on iOS 11. It also works on Windows mobile 10 phones. WebAR works fine on all major desktop browsers.

*Near field communication, abbreviated NFC, is a form of contactless communication between devices like smartphones or tablets. Contactless communication allows a user to wave the smartphone over a NFC compatible device to send information without needing to touch the devices together or go through multiple steps setting up a connection.

*Instructions*

  1. Find the NFC sticker at GZ
  2. On an iPhone, open a NFC app such as NFC Actions.
  3. Make sure in the NFC Apps preferences, use Safari for URL Action is selected.
  4. Click Scan NFC Tag within your chosen NFC App,
  5. On the webpage link you are taken to, allow the webpage to use your camera.
  6. Using the webpage to access your camera, Aim your camera around and see what rotating celestial bodies you can see. The smaller they are the further away they are.
  7. Walk towards them until you they are large & envelope the screen. When they do you are at their GZ.
