Point Park: Volunteer Heroes of ADKs Traditional Cache

This little park looks out upon Johns Brook and the Ausable River as they join. I placed this cache here as it was a few feet away from my first ambulance call as an EMT. This cache is in honor of the volunteer EMTs and firefighters of Keene and Keene Valley. They are true heroes, performing their service for free, at all hours of the day and night. The training required pulls them away from their families but these heroes forfeit their personal time for the greater good of the town they love and live in.

The memorial stone in this quiet park is dedicated to a fine young man whose memory will be etched in the minds of his family, friends, and the volunteers who were there.  Thank you for supporting the volunteers of your community and ours- they are the quiet heroes right here in our midst. I bet one of them just drove over the bridge!
