Geocache Description:


This cache has been placed in memory of our late grandfather Peter 'pop' Atkinson. Who passed away at home shockingly and suddenly on 16/03/2016 at the age of 79 he was a loveing man who left behind a wife, 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In his amazing life he worked as a plater in a steel factory where he met his wife Rita. He also spent many years in the RAF as a medic in that time he saw good things as well as bad things, he or we never really spoke about his time in the RAF as you could see it had left its tole on him and it was traumatising for him. He was a very family orientated man who loved his wife and grandchildren, he could always solve or fix any problem anyone had. So as a family we placed this cache at this location as we all sheared many happy memory's with him here. To get to this cache you want to walk down wnyard walkway from the station then follow the path on your right into Thorpe woods up the steps follow the path, then descend a large number of steps. It can be slippy if it has rained so please use caution and it is possible to do this cache with a buggy talking from experience just may take a little while longer. If the cords are out I'm sorry had some difficulty in getting them due to the tree cover. We would love to hear what you thought of the cache and its location. Happy Hunting everyone.
