Foxy Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

bootecacher: Yep, another "new" series coming out on an "old familiar road" for this coming winter's Battle Cache game. LOTS of new caches for this winter, so getting a jump start on write-ups and placements to beat an early snow. Thanks to all who visited this past year.

Geocache Description:

Blasts from the Past: 100 Slang Terms from the 20th Century

The 20th century was a truly special time. One day we were “cruisin’ for a bruisin'” with some “greasers” at the “passion pit,” the next we’re saying telling a Valley Girl to “talk to the hand” — or shouting “booyah!” to our best buddies.

That’s right: It was a killer century for slang. But slang—just like all fads—is something that falls out of favor all too quickly (sadly, way too many of these sayings are still part of Nimrod’s everyday vernacular).

So please hop in our time machine as we take you through the greatest slang terms of the 20th century — from the 1950s to the 1990s — which were once all that and a bag of chips, but have sadly been kicked to the curb.

FOXY

Applicable to either a man or woman, “foxy” denotes an undeniable sex appeal. Why are foxes sexier than, say, coyotes or wolves? Why not “Hey baby, you’re looking wolfy?” We have no idea.

Example: “You are one foxy lady. Can I have your number?”

YES, if you're an Islander or Maritime cacher, you've been down these roads many times before -- and the end is nowhere in sight! Being an Island with limited space, a yearly Atlantic Battle Cache contest, and an insatiable appetite for , we'll keep bringing you a new series each year!

All caches are winter-friendly and drivable (depending on the time of year and vehicle). Many hides in this series are down RDRs (Red Dirt Roads) that are Not maintained during the winter and will be very muddy in the spring and after much rain. They make for a great snowshoe or cross-country ski during the winter.

Nothing fancy, just a basic cache hide to add to your number of  and hopefully a "hit" in this year's Atlantic Battle Cache contest (click) -- you're welcome!

ALL Island cachers are encouraged to register and play (it's free, fun, and forces you to get out and cache during the winter).

"Battle on Wayne, Battle on Garth"!
