De cache bevindt zich op volkstuinpark de Bretten.
Het tuincomplex is vrij toegankelijk van 1 april tot 1 oktober (zonsopgang-zonsondergang). Het is een prachtig park met vrije wandeling op de paden en een kleine speeltuin.
De tuinen en huisjes zelf zijn niet toegankelijk, daar wordt door tuinders getuinierd, dus loop niet de tuinen in, die zijn privé.
Als je bij de cache aankomt dan kon je vroeger je drie soorten windmolens zien.Maar vorig jaar is de moderne windmolen weggehaald in verband met de stadsuitbreiding. Als je terugloopt richting hoofdpad kun je moderne herplaatste windmolens zien.
De eerste molen die je ziet is een stalen Bosman Molen uit Piershil.
Op Volkstuinpark de Bretten staat al ruim veertig jaar een Bosman molen. Deze molen zorgt al die tijd al voor de doorstroming en juiste waterstand in de sloten van het tuinpark. Het hart van de molen wordt gevormd door een cardanas uit een oude T-ford. Ik vind het een heel bijzonder en mooi ontwerp, dat uitblinkt in eenvoud en efficiëntie.
Kijk je naar rechts (al moet je misschien wel even een klein stukje naar rechts lopen) dan zie je door de bomen aan de overkant van de haarlemmerweg een oude houten molen staan.
De 1200 Roe is de naam van deze poldermolen. De naam van de molen is gebaseerd op de afstand tot de Haarlemmerpoort. 1200 Roeden is ruim vier kilometer.
De molen is gebouwd in 1632 na de aanleg van de Haarlemmertrekvaart en diende voor de bemaling van de Osdorper Binnenpolder. In 1951 verloor de molen zijn functie toen een groot deel van de polder onder het zand van de Westelijke Tuinsteden verdween. Verplaatsing naar het dorp Sloten ging niet door. De molen bleef op zijn plek als herinnering aan vroeger tijden en is in de jaren 1977 tot en met 1979 geheel gerestaureerd. De molen is bedrijfsvaardig, maar vervult op het moment geen enkele functie. De molen wordt wel regelmatig in werking gesteld. De 1200 Roe wordt bewoond en is niet te bezichtigen.
Loop je 100 meter terug naar links dan zie je grote moderne windmolens voor het opwekken van elektriciteit.
Het windpark Afrikahaven telt ongeveer negen windmolens die samen een hoeveelheid groene stroom opwekken die vergelijkbaar is met het verbruik van zo’n 15.000 huishoudens.
Havenbedrijf Amsterdam heeft als doelstelling om de huidige 65 megawatt aan opgesteld vermogen in het havengebied uit te breiden naar 100 megawatt in 2020.

The gardens and cottages themselves are not accessible, as gardeners are gardening, so do not walk into the gardens, they are private .

The first mill you see is a steel Bosman Mill from Piershil.
There has been a Bosman mill at Volkstuinpark de Bretten for more than forty years. This mill already ensures the flow and correct water level in the ditches of the garden park. The heart of the mill is formed by a cardan shaft from an old T-ford. I think it is a very special and beautiful design that excels in simplicity and efficiency.
If you look to the right (although you may have to walk a little bit to the right) you will see an old wooden mill standing by the trees on the other side of the haarlemmerweg.
The 1200 Roe is the name of this polder mill. The name of the mill is based on the distance to the Haarlemmerpoort. In the old days the Roe was a distance unit. 1200 Roeden is more than four kilometers.
The mill was built in 1632 after the construction of the Haarlemmertrekvaart and served for the drainage of the Osdorper Binnenpolder. In 1951 the mill lost its function when a large part of the polder disappeared under the sand of the Western Garden Cities. Relocation to the village of Sloten did not take place. The mill remained in place as a memory of earlier times and was completely restored in the years 1977 to 1979. The mill is operational, but does not fulfill any function at the moment. The Afrikahaven wind farm has app nine wind turbines that together generate a quantity of green electricity that is comparable with the consumption of some 15,000 households.
Port of Amsterdam aims to expand the current 65 megawatts of installed capacity in the port area to 100 megawatts in 2020.
