Geocache Description:

This geocache is part of a series that will lead you to the location of the Mystery Cache "American League West" (GC7QEF2).  Find all the caches that are named after the 5 teams in the American League West and record a clue with each find.  Look for the clue on the cache container.  The final has gone missing and is now archived :(.

The Seattle Mariners played their first season in 1977.  Their best season was in 2001 when they set the major league record for wins in a season with 116.  Unfortunately, that year ended with a loss in the ALCS to the New York Yankees.  The Mariners are one of two teams in MLB (along with the Washington Nationals) to have not played in a World Series.

The Mariners played in the Seattle Kingdome for 22 seasons where they hosted the 50th All-Star game in 1979.  They currently play their home games at T-Mobile Park (formerly Safeco Field) where they hosted the 72nd All-Star game in 2001.

The voice of the M's from 1977-2010 was Dave Niehaus.  Niehaus was the play-by-play announcer known for the phrases "My, oh my!" and "Get out the rye bread and mustard, grandma, it's grand salami time!".
