This place is the reason I moved to Mildura. I worked as an apprentice stock and station agent and used to sell out of these sale yards once a fortnight.
I honed my auctioneering skills here and then was able to finish in the top 10 for the young auctioneer in Victoria.
The Mildura sale yards ceased selling livestock in 2008 and has quickly fallen into disrepair. But with the reopening of the abattoirs next door this sale yard might again return to active service which would be great for the local farmers.
The cache you seek should be a relatively easy find if you are over 5 foot tall.
