I gorghi scuri

Questo itinerario permette di scoprire uno dei siti naturalistici più suggestivi del territorio a nord di Marostica, i Gorghi Scuri.
Per gli amanti del genere questo luogo somiglia vagamente all'elfico "Gran Burrone" de "Il Signore degli Anelli".
Questo tipo di luogo rappresenta nell'immaginario popolare il nascondiglio ideale per Anguane e Salbanelli, anche se dei ragazzi del posto che abbiamo incontrato ci hanno assicurato che d'estate, quando fa caldo, loro vanno spesso a fare il bagno nei gorghi e mai nessuno è stato vittima di queste creature!


Come raggiungere i gorghi scuri

Da Valle S. Floriano si prende la strada che verso Ovest conduce a Contrà Placca, dove è possibile parcheggiare l'auto vicino ad un Capitello (vedi WP1).
Da questo punto si svolta a destra in direzione nord verso Contrà Capo di Sopra.
Si percorre la stradina cementata che risale ripidamente la valle tra il torrente "la Valletta" e il bosco composto da salici, pioppi, ontani e robinie.
Dopo circa un km si trovano delle indicazioni (verso destra) che permettono di raggiungere una suggestiva cascata.
Oltrepassare il torrente in direzione di un vecchio baito recuperato che costeggia la strada.
Subito dopo alcuni cartelli alla sinistra indicano un sentiero alternativo solo per esperti; quello del "sito naturalistico dei Gorghi Scuri".
Seguire il sentiero che si inoltre nella valletta nel folto della vegetazione. Dopo qualche centinaio di metri si giunge al primo dei gorghi, detto "Gorgo di mezza".
Qualche metro più su si trova il "gorgo scuro". In questo tratto di sentiero il terreno è spesso bagnato e scivoloso; prestare attenzione a dove si mettono i piedi!

La cache

La cache è nascosta lungo il sentiero qualche metro prima di raggiungere il primo dei due gorghi scuri, chiamato "Gorgo di mezza". Attenzione, non è necessario arrampicarsi su punti pericolosi per raggiungere la cache (vedi foto spoiler).


"Gorghi scuri" Itinerary

This itinerary allows you to discover one of the most evocative naturalistic sites of the territory on the north of Marostica, called "Gorghi Scuri" ["dark eddies"].
This place vaguely resembles the "Great Ravine" elf of "The Lord of the Rings".
This type of place represents in the popular imagination the ideal hideaway for "Anguane" and "Salbanelli", even if the local guys we met have assured us that in summer, when it's hot, they often go to swim in the whirlpools and never anybody was a victim of these creatures!

How to reach the dark whirlpools

From Valle S. Floriano, take the road that leads west to Contrà Placca, where you can park your car near a capital (see WP1).
From this point turn right towards north towards Contrà Capo di Sopra.
Go along the cemented road that steeply climbs the valley between the "Valletta" stream and the forest composed of willows, poplars, alders and robinie.
After about one kilometer there are some signs (to the right) that allow you to reach a suggestive waterfall.
Go over the stream in the direction of an old hut that runs along the road.
Immediately after some signs to the left indicate an alternative path only for experts; that of the "natural site of the Dark Gorghi".
Follow the path that go into the valley in the thick vegetation. After a few hundred meters you will reach the first of the dark whirlpool, called "Gorgo di mezza".
A few meters higher is the "dark eddy". In this stretch of trail the terrain is often wet and slippery; pay attention to where you put your feet!

The cache

The cache is hidden along the path a few meters before reaching the first of two dark eddies. Warning, it is not necessary to climb on dangerous points to reach the cache (see photo spoiler).
