Denne lille serie i Lyngbakkerne i Gl. Rye vil vise dig lidt rundt i områder, fortælle lidt om planter og insekter samt give dig mulighed for at hjælpe lidt med plejen af området. Ryk gerne et lille Birketræ op eller tramp på nogle Ørnebregner. Husk: bakkerne og arealet må gerne betrædes, men dyrene må ikke fodres eller skræmmes, respekter hegnet og brug lågerne.

Musebakke
Fra Musebakken, med sine 94 meter over havet, er der et fantastisk udsigt ud over Lyngbakkerne og det kopierede område ved Gl. Rye og Mossø. Tag kaffen med og hold en pause på en af bænkene medens udsigten og roen nydes.

Lyngbakkerne
Lynbakkerne er et fredet areal, hvoraf den bynære del, siden 2015 er ejet af Naturfond Gl. Rye. Med udgangspunkt i Borgerforeningen stiftede borgerne i Gl. Rye i 2012 Naturfond Gl. Rye med det formål på at købe Lyngbakke arealet.  Naturfondens formål er i dag at pleje området og sikre adgang til områdets natur og historier.
Via støtteforeningen arrangeres flere gange om året plejedage hvor uønsket vækst af f.eks. Birketræer, Gyvel og Ørnebregne holdes nede. Der arrangeres ture i området hvor der fortælles om insekter og dyr, hvoraf flere er sjældne i Danmark.
Som en del af plejen er der indsat dyr til afgræsning af arealerne. Pt. er de heste der er ansat til den opgave. Der har tidligere været kreaturer og geder i området. Skanderborg kommune deltager ligeledes i plejen af området.

 Cachen er placeret efter aftale med Naturfond Gl Rye.

This small cache series will show you around in the Lyngbakkerne in Gl. Rye and tell a bit on the plant and insects you might see. Further, it gives you an opportunity to help taking care of the area by pulling up a small Birch tree or tamp on some Eagle fern. Remember that the hills and the arear may be walked on, but do not feet the animals, respect the fences and use the gates.

Musebakken
From the Musebakke, with its 94 meter above sea level, there is a magnificent view over the Lyngbakkerne area and the hilly area around Gl. Rye and Mossø. Bring your coffee, take a brake on a bench, and enjoy the view and the silence.

Lyngbakkerne
The Lyngbakkerne is a protected area, where the area closed to the city, since 2015 is owned by Nature fond Gl. Rye. With base in citizen association, the citizen of Gl. Rye in 2012 founded Nature fond Gl. Rye with the purpose to buy the arear. The purpose today is to maintain the area and secure the public access to the nature and histories.
With support from the Support association there is several times a year arranges maintenance days where undesired growth of e.g. Birch tree, Broom and Eagle fern is kept down. There are arranged tours in the area where learning on the insects and plants are communicated.
As a part of the maintenance of the area, there is currently hired horses to eat the grass. Previous also cattle and goats have been in the area. Skanderborg commune do also support in the maintenance of the area.

The cache is placed in agreement with the Nature fond Gl. Rye.
