This Cache focuses on Fliquet.
Fliquet tower, one of 3 constructed as a 'Jersey round tower' similar to those at St Catherine and Archirondel to defend from attack from France. Built around 1787, you'll note that the Machicolations and most of the top floor had been removed.
During the Occupation of the island, the German forces again capped the hole left by the missing floor and used it for thier own purposes. Also very close by you will find a small personnel shelter, and on the seaward side of the tower if you climb the bank, you can make out what was an machine gun nest for a 'Heavy mounted MG34/42'
The tower was also the site of the islands connection to France in the way of a Telegraph cable coming ashore here, from Pirou.
