60 Years ago a physicist Enrico Fermi looked up into the vastness of space and asked the question, where is everybody. We know that there are millions of planets in our galaxy. Some of them must be similar to our own Earth. The universe should be full with other life.
So... why has the universe so far been ominously silent. Is it that the aliens are there but do not wish to speak with us. A sort of "prime directive" to not interfere with any new civilisations until they have reached a certain point. Or more worryingly, are we out here on our own in the cosmos, a freak of nature or of chance, with nothing to guide us or to keep us from our own self destruction.
