Geocache Description:

Welcome to Rugby! It is the 2nd biggest town in Warwickshire with a population of 70,628. This town is the birthplace of rugby football as during a game of football at Rugby School,  William Webb Ellis  picked up the ball and the game was born. It's also the school mentioned in Tom Brown's school days the 1857 novel by Thomas Hughes.

The Oxford Canal near which this cache is set is a 78 mile canal built in 1870 which links Oxford with Bedworth via Banbury and Rugby. It was the main canal between the Midlands and London for 15 years but was superseded by the Grand Union Canal which it combines with near Braunston and Napton-On-The-Hill.

  • This is our first UK hide and celebrates Lily’s 9th birthday! It’s a small container but big enough for small swappables and at time of placing contains some pretty painted rocks!
