Geocache Description:

These road route markers are found along roads in South Africa. Hopefully you know what they mean, but if not maybe it is a good time to do some research.

The Cooper run test is a simple running test of aerobic fitness that was designed by Kenneth H Cooper in 1968 for the US Military. The original format was to test how far a person could run in 12 minutes and later this was changed to a timed distance. The run evaluates the condition of the person as generally the idea is to run the distance at a steady pace.

The CO lays claim to the fact that indeed he passed this test while wearing his browns, boots, skeleton webbing and helmet and carrying his rifle. Not only that, but he has also pounded the pavement on this route that you now have to follow. Granted that was many moons ago. Of course it is entirely up to you if you want to believe that or not.

From here you can either drive the desired distance and continue the search from there, or if you feel energetic, you can always test yourself and see if you can make the run in time.
