Geocache Description:

The War Memorial is located outside St Mary's Church, which stands in the centre of Feltwell village and is built on land given to the parish by the Newcomes who lived in the Hall opposite (now a housing estate). The memorial was dedicated on December 12th 1920.

There are four panels around the base of the memorial cross on which the names of the fallen are recorded. Names are recorded with initials and service details: there are no details of rank or date of death. The dedication panel reads:

In proud and grateful memory of the men of this parish
who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918.

Beside the memorial is a plaque commemorating the service of No. 75 (New Zealand) Squadron of the Royal Air Force, which flew Wellington Bombers from nearby RAF Feltwell. The village pub has been renamed ‘The Wellington’ in recent years and a mural painted on the wall in the garden dedicated to the history of the airfield.

The cache can be found at N52 29.ABC E000 31.DEF

To find the coordinates for the final, you need to take note of the number of the regiment in which the following men served:

A = F.W. Brown

B = P. Banham

C = C.W. Vincent

D = R. Higgins

E = F.J. Wilkin

F = B. Johnson

The cache is a short walk from the war memorial. If you prefer to drive, there should be on-street parking close to GZ. The container is a camouflaged micro hidden in plain sight. Stealth will be required due to potential for high muggle activity close to GZ.  Bring your own tweezers and pen
