This is our first cache! We are placing it in honor of Brother who has successfully completed his challenge to read 100 books! As a first grader, this is an impressive accomplishment! We are so proud of how much he has learned and are excited to see him continue to grow and to do amazing things one day.
This cache is based on one of our favorite books, Zoe's Jungle by Bethanie Deeney Murguia. It's about a pair of sisters who take their adventures to the park, playing out imaginary perilous expeditions in search of the "Addiebeast" (aka Zoe's little sister Addie). And so, in the style of the author, take up this death-defying journey - if you dare!
The brave explorer adventures again! Ready for spelunking, crocodile wrestling, scuba diving, and any challenge they might encounter, the fearless crew begins their quest. Traversing the asphaltic rapids, the team boldly forges ahead in their feat. In search of great riches, tall tales, and the infamous trackable bug, the dedicated team sets their sights on the elusive and mysterious cacher's log. Equipped only with cunning, bravery and navigating genius only before seen by the Vikings, the intrepid explorers press ahead. A lonely trail calls the voyagers. Courageously fighting off ferocious beasts - Sasquatch, man-eating mosquitos, and the most feared of all, the Bumblebee - the team arrives undaunted in their search. Finding a clearing, the explorers keep a close eye for pirates, sea monsters, or other nefarious muggles. Quiet! Only the stealthy skills of ninjas will ensure a victory! On tiptoes as not to give away their secret mission, the team knows they are close. A lift of a branch, a peek under loose bark and the TREASURE IS FOUND!! What an amazing discovery! History will remember the intrepid team for their bravery, heroism and perseverance.
Near this cache there is paved parking, a great playground, picnic tables and a restroom. As cachers, these are gems to find. :)
We have permission of the parks department to place our cache here, but please be respectful of this beautiful park. Cache is nestled at the bottom of a tree branch just a few feet from a side trail. No need to go bushwhacking or to cut geo-trails to access.
