Geocache Description:

On Saturday 10/26/1991 my Dad packed the family into the car, a Ford Crown Victoria, and we made our way down to the cities from Duluth. My Dad had fallen in love with baseball after getting cable for the first time when I was a kid in the early 80's. He would watch the Atlanta Braves on TBS. He even had us drive all the way down to a braves spring training game against the expos on our one and only Florida trip in my early elementary years.

This was a big event, my brother and Dad had been there for game 7 in 87 for the Twins first World Series Championship so I was excited and hoped to see my own championship in person. We had 4 tickets for Game 6 and 2 tickets for Game 7, this time I got to go to both.

The game started with the Twins going up by 2 runs in the first inning. I had loved watching Chuck Knaublach a true table setter, who I had met the previous winter at the twins caravan at the DECC in Duluth. As a rookie no one knew who he was and they didn't want his autograph so we were able to talk in depth with him, this made him my favorite and it was exciting to see him score the first run off a Kirby Pucket Triple. The Braves then tied it up in the fifth, with the twins putting one more on the board on the bottom of the inning. The good guys with their M hats stayed one run up until the Braves scored unanswered in the seventh. This tie would go until the 11th inning when on the 4th pitch from Leibrandt, Pucket was said to have seen balls rotation and made a home run into the section of the lower deck home run porch seats we were sitting in. Wow what a moment. It was not until 20 years later that I learned this moment had a tag line from the legendary game caller, Jack Buck. Who knew.... Baseball memories.

Approach from city offices parking lot to the south.
