This is a series of caches laid along the trails in Pykni Forest. We started off originally with 6 locations but now are extending this to 16.
The first part of the series (# 1 - 5) can be driven with care, however it is a really nice walk.....but take water and as always in Cyprus, watch out for snakes. Keep to the paths, do not attempt to take short cuts through the trees.
As with most trails they can be dusty in Summer and muddy after rain. Please be aware of the risk of fire and be careful to dispose of cigarette ends responsibly.
The first 5 caches are placed in the forest on the left side of the road from Peyia/Coral Bay to Kathikas, whilst the rest are on the opposite side of the road.
The forest contains a numbers of different species of trees and some of these have been used to provide homes for the caches. The series consists of a mixture of containers but all house only a log sheet so please bring your own pen. Tweezers may also be necessary for some.
Please take care when retrieving the containers and replace exactly as found. Hopefully the coordinates will be fairly accurate but being amongst tall trees may be a problem.
If you wish to return to the Main Car Park (coordinates noted on # 7) then take the right hand fork here, otherwise continue to # 15 and # 16 which then leads you back to the car parking area at # 1. Take care when crossing the main road, or walking back along it to the Main car park.
