an InterCaching Adventure



The geocache that you seek is not at the posted coordinates. Do not go to the posted coordinates and expect to find the geocache. If you do go to the posted coordinates looking for the geocache, you will not find it there. It is elsewhere. The geocache is not there, but rather elsewhere. The geocache is not at the posted coordinates, because the geocache is somewhere else, elsewhere, somewhere that is not at the posted coordinates.

Note: This is an Intercache, an interactive geocache, a new way to complete a geocache.
Put away your GPS, and get out your smartphone. This is an interactive cache taking you on an adventure around Rotorua Goverment gardens. Please read before you head out!

What's an intercache?
An InterCache is an interactive geocache. An intercache is a new way of creating a mystery geocache, similar to a wherigo geocache. The biggest difference is that the entire geocache can be developed, edited, and played on your mobile phone's browser with no software required to download! There is no need to register to find an InterCache. Just use the standard web browser that is supplied with your phone. If you do use another web browser and the GPS seems to shut off, selecting 'Refresh' turns the GPS back on. The "Special Tool Required" attribute is included since a smartphone is required for the InterCache.

How do you play?
First, make sure you have a compatible device. Go to www.intercaching.com/intercache/ on your cell phone's browser and select the test button. It is recommended that you do this outside for best results. You should see your current coordinates as well as the estimated accuracy. If you see something reasonable, you are all set. If you get an error, you may need to enable the GPS and other geolocation settings on your phone. It is also possible that you may not have a phone that is compatible with InterCaching.

Play
If your device is compatible, then head on over to the Link to play the game and start. If at any point the GPS on your phone shuts off, refresh your Browser and the GPS should turn on again. Each stage will tell you some information, but you do not have to find anything physical until the final stage. All of the stages will require that you are within a given radius (10 m) of the location before you can move on. Completion of this InterCache will provide coordinates to the geocache but will not lead you to it. So the last hunt for the container is as a traditional using the provided coordinates from the InterCache.
