Geocache Description:

A Wherigo Cache With a Twist

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates, but while you may begin your search from any point in the world, you do have to go to the posted co-ordinates to gather information needed to calculate the xxxxxx yyyyyy zzzzzz values needed to prime the R-WIG cartridge first.

Access to the posted co-ordinates is only allowed from the NORTH, from the south is breaking international law. There is NO need to go south of the boundary marker to get the information you need. The trail head, along with turns for the road to the marker are provided. A parking spot, at the end of the gravel part of the road is marked, after that I got my feet wet on the last 550m to the marker on a dry day when the road was dry until then.

The container is located within 3.2 km(2mi) of the posted co-ordinates in Canada.

You need to be familiar with calculating Digital Roots of words, and numbers, so take paper and pencil with you. I also provided the digital root of each of the three priming numbers you have calculated as a check to see if you did them correctly.

Here is a tool for digital root that may help you learn how to do them.

To calculate the xxxxxx value: at the plaque, take the digital root of the longest name (letters and words) of one of the commissioners, and make it into a three digit number, and add it to this fictitious number 429431.

To calculate the yyyyyy value: at the plaque, take the digital root of the shortest name (letters and words) of one of the commissioners, and make it into a three digit number, and add it to this fictitious number 448282.

To calculate the zzzzzz value: from the disk about 90 meters north of the plaque, take the digital root of the longest word, starting with an i, and make it into a three digit number, and add it to this fictitious number 106137.

Example: Given a name of b. bob, and fictitious number of 222222, then b. bob is dr=3, 222222+333=222555 then the dr of 222555 is 3.

This Wherigo converts your player into a virtual version of the "Reverse Cache Box" which tells you the distance to the cache, but not the bearing. You may begin your search from any spot in the world using your Smartphone or Wherigo compatible GPS to navigate to the cache.

Reverse Geocache Puzzle Box

The cartridge was created by Waldmeister and is available to download from the wherigo.com website.

Your task is to find the cache by periodically querying your Reverse Cache Box for the distance to the final location. Try to use your Reverse Cache Box as few times as possible. All instructions and necessary information needed to complete the cartridge is contained within it. The cartridge is multilingual. When entering the lanuage you can shorten it to 2 digits, example: English to EN.

To begin, you will have to type this code into your player:

xxxxxx checksum digital root = 2

yyyyyy checksum digital root = 1

zzzzzz checksum digital root = 9

It is suggested that you take the code with you on your journey. It will be needed if it becomes necessary to restart your player for any reason.

Optional:

When you have reached the final, you will be given some statistics on your quest. If you wish, you may enter the details into your log, and also post the number of times you calculated the distance.

At the end of the game, you will be given a personal pass-code which you can enter into the cartridge if you select "create" rather than "play" when you start the cartridge. Save this code, and if you ever wish to create your own reverse cache, you can do so. -Waldmeister- would like you to inform him of your new edition of his handiwork. Please do not include hints in your log about where and how you found the cache or post photos that would give away the final location.

Cache contains a log, cache note, and a pencil. Do NOT park on the shoulder of any busy roads, side streets, and alleys are near by for safe access. This cache was placed using an android tablet with an accuracy of +/- 3m.
