Early on in May we received a request to join TaGeez and Scrapcat in a series to celebrate the end of winter and encourage geocachers to get outdoors and enjoy the warm weather and our beautiful surroundings. The series would be called HBUSA (Happy Birthday, USA). It was decided to release the series on Independence Day (as it lands midweek and will add to the celebration of the day).
On our way home from dinner we were looking for some spots to place a cache for this series. My mom had me check on a location where we had a previous find on a creative cache container. That cache was no longer there and the space seemed open and available. I hopped out of the van and went searching and ran into a tarantula which scared me off. I sent my dad out to place the cache in my place and he assured me the little spider was not a tarantula. I hope my new spider friend protects this cache.
