Baldwin Wallace has an interesting connection to World War II. George W. Ritter, for whom Ritter Library is named, served as secretary and vice-president of the Willys-Overland Co. during the War. The U.S. government contracted the production of the Willys Jeep, saving the company from financial ruin. Mr. Ritter, having graduated from Baldwin University in 1906, donated money toward the construction of the University's library. Log present but no pencil since it went missing.
