Geocache Description:

This geocache is located next to the spring at Black Fox Wetlands. The container is a round, plastic coffee canister next to trunk of tree.  The tree is about 20 feet from southwest bank of the spring. This area was once a hunting camp for Cherokee Chief Black Fox.  Legend has it that Chief Black Fox escaped militray troops by diving into the spring and swimming underground to Murfree Springs Wetlands.  This site was also a camp on the Trail of Tears.

Nickajack Trace - Black Fox Wetlands is public property owned by the City of Murfreesboro, TN. Access is only from the south side which is the Red Mile Road side of the property and is open to the public only during daylight hours. There are signs posted with rules for visiting the location.
