This final cache brings you to the large Mountain Lodge house. The estate was first owned by Hugh Garmony in 1818 and has since belonged to 8 different people before being sold to the Forestry Service in the 1980's. The house was once a splendid 6 bedroom house with a dining room, a drawing room, study, work shop, motor house, harness room and many outbuildings. Sadly it has fallen into disrepair recently. One of the owners, Thomas Hunniford, built the original Mountain Lodge Church in the 1950's to save him travelling to Portadown every Sunday.
