Geocache Description:

Aare on peidetud Soska koonduslaagri mälestuskivi lähedale. Kivi paigaldati 2009.aastal USA rahalisel toel.

The treasure is hidden near the Soska concentration camp memorial stone. The stone was installed in 2009 with US financial support. Soska Camp was one of the twenty labor and concentration camps in Vaivara. With the help of the camp work force the German command decided to secure the eastern border of Estonia. Protected structures were built, roads and railways repaired, forests taken down. In the years 1942 - 1944 about 10 000 - 15 000 Jews died in the Estonian camps due to shootings, illness and hunger. The stone remains hidden from the road view and many locals do not know about its existence.

Across the Kuremäe - Vasknarva road lays the Ukrainian forest which gives the treasure its name. The origin of the name did not even our local historian know.
