The Event
Attend this event to earn a point for the Summer Souvenirs. Starting time 10.00am on Saturday 14th July at Muckross Bay on the shores of Lower Lough Erne. Event should last about 30-45 minutes with FTF draw at 10.30am.
Cache In The Static group is hosting this summer souvenir event in the lovely setting of Muckross Bay near Kesh. We kick off at 10.00am with a meet and greet for fellow cachers. Just look out for the Geo-flag hoisted that morning. But be careful, there may be CREATURES lurking! Fancy dress optional of course.
Since it’s a bit early for creatures of myth and legend to be out and about, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a hotdog to help awaken the sleeping monster seeker within. Please sign the Will Attend log to give an idea of numbers.
Or, for the more adventurous, come prepared with swimming gear (or even just some paddling footwear, it can be a bit stony underwater) to take part in the Cache In The Static challenge.
There’ll be MERMAIDS guarding treasure on the day. To access the loot, solve a quick puzzle at GZ, this will reveal the combination of a padlock for some water equipment. Bodyboard out to the waiting MERMAIDS, they will reveal the password for the treasure chests back on shore. Beware of KELPIES on the way as you race to release the treasure. There will be several geocache-related prizes on the day. Alternatively, if you are really intent on showing off your swimming prowess (adults only for this) you could try ‘diving in the deep’ off the end of the jetty and swimming from there-

Please be aware that GZ is an area with open water and all children and pets must be carefully supervised by parents and owners.
