The Deuce This locomotive is the Comox Logging and Railway Company’s Two-Spot, their number 2 engine which was referred to as "The Deuce" by its crew. It is a 2-6-2 steam locomotive manufactured by Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia in July 1910, for the Fraser River Logging Company. The Deuce worked in the Comox Valley, Ladysmith and around Nanaimo Lakes, and was donated to the City of Courtenay after it was taken out of service in 1960.
I live beside a giant's house And guard him like a gnome A major street and side road meet Outside our humble home
He stands beside me on a track Beneath a big red roof An old black horse of massive force And history is the proof
Behind a gate he's been locked in Atop a concrete floor You step inside but cannot ride His power is no more
So here I dwell inside my cave And honour my true goal Fenced in by green and only seen As keeper of this soul
