First of 2 caches to Commemorate the Forgotten U-boat war around the Welsh Coast. Over a weekend in June 2018, A maritime field school was run on Traeth Bychan Beach, Anglesey. The event was to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War. The field school was based around the wreck of the steam-trawler SS Cartagena that was built in Canada during WW1 to be engaged in trawling for mines laid by German U-Boats. The wreck currently lies upright and mostly intact, approximately 6-miles off Traeth Bychan at a depth of 37m. This cache is a medium sized drinks bottle with screw cap lid. It contains further information about the forgotten U-boats and contains a log book and pen. Well done to Bess's Friends for being First to Find :o)
