Monument is a cache located within a monument to the past. When I saw this location I thought it looked like a monument or a typle of tombstone marker. All around are the youngsters who carry on life on Nopales Ridge. Some of the best views from the ridge are found just a short hike along the trail to the south. (or counterclockwise)
This container is tethered so as to keep the container out of sight. It is large enough for some small swag but probably a tight fit for most trackables. If you want to drop trackables I suggest one of the larger containers used at some of the caches nearer the lake or the park entry.
Hike the entire tral if you can. Look for wildlife. You will see many tracks along the trail so there is varied wildlife here. In November I saw a nice buck near the 0.5 mile marker. I have seen a couple of doe around the 4.0 mile mark and the end of the trail if you hike it counterclockwise.
Enjoy the solitude of this quiet trail as well as the other trails in the park. Don't miss the history as this park has many interesting historical features not found in other state parks. Happy Caching.
