_{A village built in a lava landscape. - The village of Chirche grew amongst recent lava flows and a scarce water supply. For centuries its inhabitants sharpened their skills and learned to make the most of the climate and the scarce fertile soil available. The people of Chirche relied mainly on farming, based on growing crops and fruit trees non.irrigated land, and moving livestock between the mountain peak and the coast. If you look carefully at the countryside, amongst the rocks and debris strewn around the slopes by the area’s many volcanoes, you can still see the traces of buildings and features made by local people: terraces, threshing floors, re-excavated caves and other rural constructions.}

_{Chirche hamlet, now an Asset of Cultural Interest, is part of an agrarian landscape which still conserves farming and livestock features from its agricultural past. All these elements bear witness to a strategy of multiple use of a limited supply of resources due to the lava.}

 _{Chirche.- Around  XXXXX years ago, lava from the eruption of Cuevas Negras poured down the mountainsides, engulfing still relatively young land which had been created by a previous eruption, that of Chio. The houses in the village of Chirche were built on this recently formed land and its infertile soil, leaving older and more productive soil free for farming.}

 _{Tejina mountain. - This volcanic dome of the Tejina mountain was formed more than XXXX million years ago by layers of very viscous lava building up around the eruption opening. Later, a heavy shower of ash from eruptions in the Las Cañadas area covered the dome and the land surrounding it. What you see today is the result of the forces of erosion and human intervention on the mountain since the end of its formation process.}

_{5:  It is not a requirement at all, but would be fun if you could take a photo of yourself taken at the viewpoint/ at these coordinates with Chirche in the background. Or a hand holding up the gps (a TB or any other object is fine too) if you are shy.}

_{Esp: Las coordenadas lo llevan a un mirador desde donde se puede ver el pueblo de Chirche y sus alrededores. Chirche es un pequeño y hermoso pueblo construido en un paisaje de lava.}

_{Un pueblo edificado entre las lavas. - El pueblo de Chirche se construyó entre lavas recientes y escasez de agua. Durante siglos sus habitantes agudizaron su ingenio y supieron aprovechar las condiciones climáticas y el poco suelo disponible para lograr su supervivencia.} 

_{La práctica de la agricultura, basada en cultivos de secano y frutales, y el tránsito desde la cumber hasta la costa de rebaños de cabras, fueron los medios principals de las gentes de  Chirche.}

_{Si te fijas en este paisaje, aperecen aún diversos detalles y elementos elaborados entre las rocas que dejaron las múltipes coladas que han resbalado por estas laderas: bancales, eras, cuevas reexcavadas, pasiles… El caserio de Chirche, declarado Bien de Interés Cultural, forma parte de un paisaje agrario que aün conserva elementos del pasado, lidagos a la agricultura y a la ganaderia. Todos estos elementos son testigos de una estrategia de aprovechamiento multiple de unos recursos uso múltiple de unos recursos limitados por la presencia de las lavas volcánicas.}

Hace alredero de XXXX años las lavas procedentes de la erupción de Cuevas Negras se deslizaron ladera a bajo sobre un terreno todavia joven, creado por una erupción anterior en la Montaña de Chio. Sobre este suelo reciente y poco fértil se levantaron las casas de Chirche, dejando libre para el cultivo la tierra más Antigua y productiva.}

 _{Montaña de Tejina. - Este domo volcánico se formó hace más de XXXX millones de años por la acumulación de capas de lava muy viscosa alrededor de la boca eruptiva. Más tarde, una intense lluvia de cenizasprocedente de erupciones localizadas en la zona de Las Cañadas cubrió el domo y toda la zona. Lo que puedes ver actualmente es el resultato del modelado que la erosión y la intervención del ser humano han llevado a cabo sobré la montaña desde que finalizó su proceso proceso de formación.}
