Welcome to 'The Wetlands', an area of regenerating bush at the site of the Grovetown Lagoon. A group of locals, and associated helpers, are slowly but surely winning back the lagoons from their seemingly never ending battle with invasive species, weeds and critters. As part of the beautification of the area there is also a pest trapping program which aims to eradicate unwanted egg stealers and pests.
There are regular working bees, on some Wednesdays and every 6th Sunday, or thereabouts, we often hold a CITO event to coincide with these.
The area can get boggy occasionally, hence the name 'The Wetlands', but you won't need to go into the marsh, there's a path all the way to within a few metres of GZ. There is a small ditch directly in front of GZ, be careful and not recommended at night. To get to the wetlands area; follow the stop-bank along towards the pump-house, passing through the gate then down the steps.
When placed this cache container held a piece of RITR paper inside a ziplock bag, please replace the cache back into place carefully. We hope you enjoy your visit to this special area.
