Geocache Description:

There is a very short walk from the edge of the road through some light scrub
There is no mobile phone reception along the majority of this power trail. You will have  to save these geocache hides off line or have a GPS device.

Welcome to the area of Jericho. A power trail has been put together on the Jericho to Blackall Road. The first ( 165-JPT-001 ) in this series begins just out of Jericho and the last one  (165-JPT-165) is not far past the intersection of Narbethong Road. This road will take you back to the Landsborough Highway and Barcaldine to the right or Blackall to the left.

There is also a series of geocache hides on Narbethong Road. The Jericho to Blackall Road follows the old now disused and removed rail line (corridor ) between Jericho and Blackall. There are a variety of hides and containers. On leaving Jericho you will be on bitumen for 31 kilometers then you will be driving on 11 Kilometers of gravel and dirt sufaces of differing quality. Total distance of 42 Kilometers. The road is suitable for towing camper trailers and or caravans. In some places on the Dirt/Gravel section you will have to choose your parking spot as some of the shoulders are very soft.   In the west it is refered to as bull dust. It is a very fine dust that will find it's way into vehicles that are not well sealed.

When placed this area has been in drought for many years and the dirt/gravel sections have suffered as a result. This section has been graded recently. You are seeking a small sized container ( 50mm PVC Pipe style container in Camo cover). This hide and all of the others are not difficult to find or meant to be tricky at all.

To give you an estimate of time duration to find all 165 in one day it took three of us ( one driving and being scribe and two to place and double check co ordinates) 15 hours to place and check placement and co ordinates. Many thanks to RoddyC ( Rod) and youngoldfella ( John) for assistance with this series and supplying nearly all of the containers and log books/sheets. You will not have to walk far from the edge of the road to locate this hide. Remember you will be walking on uneven ground through some vegetation for the majority of these 165 hides.
