Trochę historii:
Legenda niesie, że niegdyś przy pagórku na prawym brzegu Noteci odpoczywał św. Wojciech podczas drogi z Gniezna do Gdańska i Prus. Podczas drogi powrotnej konie ciągnące wóz ze zwłokami biskupa zatrzymały się w tym samym miejscu i nie chciały się ruszyć . Tak barcinianie wyjaśnili sobie nazwę owej góry. Na pamiątkę tych wydarzeń zbudowano na wzniesieniu kościółek pw. Św. Wojciecha i przez wiele wieków obok świątyni chowali swoich bliskich. Kościół rozebrano w połowie XVIII wieku. W 1933 roku z inicjatywy księdza proboszcza mieszkańcy ufundowali figurę Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa. Pomnik ten zniszczono podczas II wojny światowej. Po wojnie postawiono w tym miejscu krzyż. W roku 2012 dokonano odnowy wzgórza na którym stanął Pomnik Serca Jezusowego będący repliką tego przedwojennego. Z Góry św. Wojciecha można zobaczyć przepiękną panoramę Barcina i okolic.

Some history:
Legend has it that once at the hill on the right bank of the Noteć St. Wojciech during the road from Gniezno to Gdańsk and Prusia. On the way back, the horses pulling the cart with the bishop's body stopped in the same place and did not want to move. Thus the barcinians explained the name of the mountain. To commemorate these events, the church on the hill was built. St. Wojciech and for many centuries, near the temple, they hid their relatives. The church was pulled down in the middle of the 18th century. In 1933, on the initiative of the parish priest, the inhabitants funded a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This monument was destroyed during World War II. After the war, a cross was erected here. In 2012, the hill on which the Monument to the Heart of Jesus stood was a replica of this pre-war one. From Mount St. Wojciech, you can see the beautiful panorama of Barcin and the surrounding area.
