Geocache Description:

Hallswell Quarry is one of our favourite places to go for a family wander. At the given co-ordinates use your ANT+ compatible device to listen for (a chirp!) and download the Co-ordinates and Hint for the final – which is in theme and not far away.

If you do not have access to a compatible device; or your device stubbornly refuses to co-operate – I have hidden a magnetic keyhide at the listed co-ordinates containing an offset to calculate.

You’ll need to bring your own pen.

Note; whilst this cache is available 24/7 the quarry car entrance gates DO get locked overnight. Take note of the lock time on the sign(s) near the entrance(s). Plenty of parking outside & you can walk in 24/7.

ANT is a proprietary (but open access) multicast wireless sensor network technology designed and marketed by ANT Wireless (a division of Dynastream Innovations, in turn a wholly owned subsidiary of Garmin). ANT+ is primarily incorporated into sports and fitness sensors such as heart rate monitors, watches, cycling power meters, cadence meters, and distance and speed monitors to measure a user's performance. A range of companies use this technology in their electronic fitness range

Garmin Chirp (ANT+) is a one-of-a-kind wireless beacon designed specifically for the outdoor adventures of geocaching….but its use has never really taken off.

A range of devices are ANT compatible. Quite a comprehensive list can be found at:  https://www.thisisant.com/directory

Understandably a large proportion of Garmin devices are compatible.

There is also a range of free Android Apps available (search for Ant or Chirp); nothing yet though for Apple.
