The story of the Electric Parks of Kansas City is not complete without the inclusion of Lincoln Electric Park. As with many major public institutions in the USA in the first half of the 20th century, the Heim Brothers' famous Electric Park was whites only. But like many marginalized communities throughout history, the African Americans of Kansas City thrived despite adversity. Lincoln Electric Park was found at 20th and Woodland and was open since at least 1915. It had many of the same overall features as its larger cousin, including a theater, swimming pool, Ferris Wheel, and merry-go-round. At one point, it also featured a screening of one of the early important African American films, "Realization of a Negro's Ambition."

Tragically, less information about the origins or fate of the Lincoln Electric Park is available online compared to the others, and I could not find which of the four corners of the intersection the park was on. Since the days of the park, it seems that 20th St. in the area of Woodland was converted into the railroad bed visible just south of the cache site. But it seems likely that from the cache's hiding spot, you would have been able to see Lincoln Electric Park in all its glory. Take a moment to reflect on the past, and the impact it has left on our world today.

You are seeking a bison tube. THERE IS NO NEED TO LEAVE THE SIDEWALK. THE CACHE IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR THE RAILROAD TRACKS. DO NOT CROSS THE FENCE OR LEAVE THE SIDEWALK.
