The SQ in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours which are typically sunrise to sunset. Also, please return any fallen flag to its holder – we found 3 on the ground when we placed this cache.
We were performing cache maintenance in the area and saw that the previous cache had been archived.
Geo-pups Zoe and Daisy felt it should be replaced as a memorial to all who have passed and are at rest here. Unfortunately there are few naturally occuring hiding places left here, so we did the best we could without being near any headstones. With that being said, we apologize in advance if the coords are off a bit, but it should be obvious where it's hidden.
This can be a quick grab if you're short on time, or you can look around at the markers and the dates. When you see dates from the 1800s and early 1900s, try to imagine what life was like before planes, trains, automobiles, phones, modern medicines, supermarkets, etc.
Also pause to consider that every marker represents a son or daughter who may have also been a brother, sister, mother, father, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew, in-law or out-law, friend to many, friend to few...there's a story behind every one of them.
