100 years of knowledge
First opening in 1918 the library was first located inside the Ilderton Presbyterian Church.
The books were on display in the basement and could only be borrowed on Sundays.
In 1925 the books where moved to the house of Robert Charlton.
In 1933 it was moved to Alan W. Scott's farmhouse. The Scott's Ilderton Library was last surviving farm house library in the country at the time.
In 1966 the Middlesex library then rented space below the Ilderton legion Hall. This allowed the library to be open more days as popularity grew.
In 1994 a new building on heritage drive was built and the Ilderton and Arva branches Amalgamated.
Still located there today, the Ilderton branch of the Middlesex County Library provides services to ever-expanding community.
