We have always wondered how some cachers find some of the places they hide caches. This series of caches explains our reasoning for the location of the hides.
This cache was placed to celebrate our centroid after finding 14,000 caches. We are placing a total of seven of these caches at this time for seven of the nine centroids for each 1000 caches we found after placing the original eight in 2010.
Contents of the ammo box cache at the beginning are:
Defiant 150 lumen LED Flashlight
Carbiner
Stretch Keyring
Flat blade screwdriver
Phillips screwdriver
Since all of these are placed in the desert area of central/eastern Oregon, please make sure you have plenty of gas, food & water when seeking these caches. Where appropriate, I have provided additional waypoints in your quest for these caches. I am not interested in a fellow cacher getting lost out here. Need high clearance and 4X4 may be of benefit to access this cache. The first 3.9 miles is good gravel road and the next 3.9 miles definitely needs high clearance and road is dirt/rocky with some ruts.
