The 5k
5k = 3.1 miles. This 5k is entirely along a the Pere Marquette Rail Trail. You can walk, run or bike the trail. The 5k will end near the starting point.
The Wherigo
There are many zones along the trail. All you need to do is pass through the zones. There are no questions to answer, no other tasks to complete, nothing to remember. You will be timed and you will receive your results at the end of the 5k but there are no speed requirements. You can take as long as you want. Once you have completed the 5k, you will receive the coordinates for the cache. You must sign the logbook in the cache to log a find.

The Pere Marquette Rail Trail
This WherIgo is played on The Pere Marquette Rail Trail. The Pere Marquette Rail Trail (PMRT) is a rail trail occupying a 28 mile abandoned CSX railroad corridor in Midland County and Isabella County that was once part of the Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad. In 1874, the tracks stretched from Ludington to Flint, transporting supplies to the timber industry and lumber/timber to southern Michigan's mills. It is a Michigan Rails to Trails Conservancy Hall of Fame trail. The trail is paved with asphalt for hiking and bicycling and is up to 14 feet wide.
