Oil developement began in this area of Wichita County in 1919 and the shallow wells soon went dry. George E. Kadane and Sons stepped up to the plate and drilled deep wells when no one else would attempt it. On November 11, 1937 they struck oil at a dept of 3800 feet putting what is now know as Kadane Corner on the map. At this historic marker, you will find a cache that was once hidden in Wichita Falls.
