Millerboro was one of the many Ghost Towns that were located in Knox CO. The settlement was located about 1/2 mile east of here, and the Cemetery is located 2 miles South.
Millerboro' was first settled in the spring of 1873, by Capt. J. M. Miller, his sons, and daughters. However, the ravages of the grasshoppers in 1874-'75 caused many of these settlers to leave.
This cache is part of the Pvt. George Shannon Trail caches, that will lead you throughout Northeastern Nebraska. Pvt. Shannon became lost near here while traveling with Lewis and Clark and the Corp of Discovery in 1804.
