War Eagle Mountain rises 8,000 feet above southwestern Idaho’s Owyhee Desert, which is one of the highest peaks in the Owyhee Mountains. The earliest lode discovery at War Eagle was the incredibly rich Oro Fino, and other mines quickly started nearby. Between 1863 and 1865, 250 mining locations were recorded. You might have pretty good cell service, depending on which carrier you have!
