The term snowbird has been in use since the 1600's, but has only been used to describe humans since the 1900's. One of the first uses of the term was for men who enlisted in the military to get food and warm clothing in the winter months and then desert when warm weather came . The modern definition of the term, snowbird is a Northern who spends the winter in a warm location, usually Florida and return back to the North in the spring/summer.
This cache is a camo decorated pill container in honor of a local cache hider, K.E.T. I as well as many other geocachers have enjoyed locating her caches and learning about the many flowers, trees and nature type items in our area. This local ( but not native) snowbird enjoys the wonderful weather in our area and migrates to the warmer climate in the winter with plently of her informative caches in both areas for all to enjoy.
