This cache was placed in celebration of our Nation's birthday, 12 score and 2 years ago. It is located in one of Arkansas' most scenic State Parks -- Mt. Nebo State Park.

The cache is hidden just off the Rim Trail. There are many trails within the Park, but this one provides the best views as it loops the mountain's generally flat top. The Rim Trail is 3-1/2 miles long, and can be accessed at several points. The Parking waypoint provides just one of those places, the Gum Springs Trailhead. It is the closest access point to the cache. The Terrain level of 1.5 is based upon starting from that location.
But if you want a longer hike to this cache to enjoy the many views along the way, I suggest that you park at the Visitor Center (see Reference Point waypoint), start your hike there (behind the Visitor Center), and do the whole trail. If you do the entire loop, I would rate the Terrain from 3 to 3-1/2 due to distance and more difficult trail conditions on the southeast side of the mountain.
The cache itself is a cammo'd preform bottle (aka "baby soda bottle"). The cache does not contain a pen or pencil, so bring your own. The logsheet must be signed in order to claim a find. Online "Found It" logs without a signature on the logsheet will be deleted.
It should not be a difficult cache to find. I am more interested in getting geocachers out on this trail than perplexing them with a difficult hide!
One last thing! PLEASE do not search for this cache at night, out of respect for the folks staying in the nearby Park cabins and the Park staff who may be called out to look for cachers who might lose their way after dark!
