After a series of easy hides in Paramus, I decided to go for something significantly more challenging. This is a 4 stage multi in which the first 3 stages contain the coordinates for the subsequent stage.
This cache brings you to, in my opinion, the most beautiful mile walk in Bergen County. The wide, unpaved walking trail runs along the Oradell Reservoir and begins at the Suez Water Treatment Plant. The Reservoir is fed by the Hackensack River, Pascack Brook, and Dwars Kill. Construction of the reservoir was completed in 1923 and it currently supplies over 750,000 residents of Bergen and Hudson counties with water. The trail is extremely underused and as a result, nature abounds. If you pause and just listen, the only thing you can hear is the sound of squirrels scurrying up trees, deer munching on grass, birds chirping and other quiet natural sounds. It is truly serene.
Getting from stage 1 to the final cache requires a walk of 1/2 mile out and back. Some stages are difficult and will take some time to search and find. Plan accordingly.
