THE LETTERBOX IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES! You can find the answer to the Final right here on the geocache page, enjoy!
This is the southernmost point of New York State! Even though it may seem like common sense this still seems to surprise some people, even a few locals, ha. Even fewer know there’s a “South Pole” that marks the approximate spot, and in the past it’s taken many forms (my favorite being the candy striped incarnation! Sadly that version is gone and the current Pole is lacking the flair of its predecessor...). While walking to and from here don’t be surprised if you see a lot of wildlife you rarely see anywhere else in New York City: I’ve spotted Bald Eagles on the south shore, found remnants of a Sea Turtle’s Shell, the remains of Sharks... even planting this hide I saw a Deer, a Groundhog, a Great Egret and wild Turkeys, so this is as much (if not more since the beach here is so nice) about nature as it is state lines, enjoy!
