Penn Wood is an area of mixed woodland on to the steep, north-facing slopes of the Cotswolds and, geologically speaking, is the best place in the county to view the scarp. A series of paths, including the Cotswold Way national trail, cross the woodland.
This cache has been placed on the edge of the woods where (hopefully) the tree cover won't give your GPS too much trouble. If you're unlucky with your device, you can always take a bearing from the nearby Selsley Common, an area of open grassland.
Parking coordinates are provided for the nearest safe parking, although there are several other places available as the road crosses the common. Pick a spot depending on how far you want to walk. Please don't try and park on the road as it passes through the woods as it likely to be dangerous or obstruct a private driveway.
Cache placed with the kind permission of the Woodland Trust.
