Geocache Description:

Welcome to Mt Steve

The mountain is 2,245 ft and is the smallest mountain in the Iron Mountain range/area although it looks pretty impressive from the main parking lot.

To get there is actually pretty easy, start from the main TH and turn off at the listed trail reference point.  There you'll find several use-trails going north towards the north saddle.  Pick one and stay on it as long as you can.  I found that when the trail I was on "ended" I hiked uphill a little bit to find another trail to continue on.  Do this until you get close to the north saddle and are about even level with it.  Shortly before the north saddle there is a thicket of bushes so start looking for a way to go up to the summit to avoid any major bushwhacking.  It will be a little steep but not for long.

The view up here is an outstanding 360 degrees.  Unfortunately you can't get away from the "serenade" of vehicles on 67
