Seattle, WA and Nantes, France have been sister cities since 1980. Both cities have turned former industrial sites into public parks with contemporary art, natural landscapes, and cultural events. Come enjoy Seattle's Olympic Sculpture Park, with outdoor sculptures, native plants, a beach, and amazing views across Puget Sound to the Olympic Mountains, all on the site of a former oil and gas corporation. Find the sculpture that is reminiscent of the hulls of the container ships floating in the harbor, then sit under a Dawn Redwood tree. The dawn redwood is a very special kind of tree - a deciduous conifer.(Please respect the park and stay on the paths. The cache is reachable without leaving the walking areas. The park has given permission for this cache.)
