Wellington has a number of scenic side and back roads. This regular sized geocache highlights one of them.
This is one in a series of geocaches highlighting the beautiful landscapes surrounding Wellington. Remember to always take care on dirt roads. The road is mostly unsealed coming in from the South East, almost completely sealed coming from the North, and I'm not sure if coming in from the South West yet. You can tell me if you come that way. There is plenty of room to pull off the road near the cache.
If you were to come in from the South East, you would have driven in past the southern point of the Catombal Range. I find this range intriguing - just look at it on a satelite map! Wouldn't you want to get into the centre of that and drive or walk all around the edges? I do anyway. Unfortunately, it appears it is all sealed off by private properties. Anyway, I shall continue to explore the area and hopefully one day find a way in. If I do, I'll place a cache nearby so you can get in too. :)
